GORDON GRIFFITHS BURSARY
Mr Gordon Griffiths had a long association with the Gower Agricultural Society, Chairman of the Committee in 1984 and President of the Society during 1999 and 2000, with a particular interest in the growing crops and roots section of the Show.
Following Mr Griffith’s death, his family, Keith and Judith approached the Society offering a bursary of £200 in his memory which will be offered again this year to the young farmer (under 40 years of age), who controls the day to day running of the farm and who in the opinion of the judges has excelled in the growing crops and roots classes. Applicants must enter the root class on show day.
“The 2025 Gordon Griffiths bursary was awarded to Rhodri Davies, Gelliorllwyn Farm. 20 year old Rhodri used the bursary money to fund his British Wool ‘Bronze’ seal shearing certificate. This certification shows that Rhodri has demonstrated professional competency at a commercial shearing level, allowing him not only to shear more sheep on his home farm but also to take on commercial shearing work on other farms.”

We are pleased to announce the results of this year’s grassland competition, judged growing in the field.
All competitors have now been informed of the results, and the full outcome can be found in the attached document.
Congratulations and well done to everyone who took part.
We are pleased to announce, for the first time at The Gower Show the amazing display of Gwerin Y Gŵyr (Welsh: The Folk of Gower). Gwerin Y Gŵyr is a local group of Regia Angolrum (Latin: The Kingdoms of the English-speaking people). We have an Early Medieval re-enactment group who mainly portray Norse/Danish "Viking" peoples and Cymry culture between 850-1250. There will be numerous displays and interactions through out the day, this is not to be missed!
The Gower Show will be taking place on Sunday, 2nd August 2026 and will return to the much loved Penrice Estate, by kind permission of Mrs Judith and Mr Thomas Methuen Campbell. This is a magnificent setting for a wonderful day for everyone to share, not just the farming community, with its diverse collection of craft stalls, local produce, attractions and demonstrations for all to participate in.
Come and join us for a fun filled day packed with livestock, equine, cookery and craft competitions.
There is something to interest everyone throughout the day with its wide range of activities including horticulture, crafts, countryside exhibitions, shopping and a full programme of exciting entertainment and displays in the main and President’s rings throughout the day.
